Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by advancing a ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using the feet, but also allowing other body parts except for the hands and arms, which are reserved for the goalkeepers. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

The most prominent form of football globally is association football, commonly known as soccer in some countries. It is organized at various levels, from amateur to professional leagues, and has a significant international presence, including prestigious competitions like the FIFA World Cup. The sport is characterized by its emphasis on strategy, teamwork, and athleticism, making it one of the most widely played and followed sports in the world.
